The Government of Serbia adopted the 2022-2030 Air Quality Protection Program with an action plan, which defines the measures and activities to be implemented in the coming period aiming at the air quality improvement. This is the first time in history of the Republic of Serbia that such document in the field of air quality protection has been adopted.
The program puts as an objective the reduction of emissions from various sectors, such as energy, stationary combustion plants, transport, large industrial plants and agriculture. Such reduction will involve cooperation and participation of institutions, businesses and citizens.
Local self-government units will participate in the further development of air quality plans, short-term action plans and local monitoring plans.
In the coming years the program will require 2.6 billion EUR of investment.
