According to the data of the survey of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on the business activity of business entities conducted in July 2022, 75% of the surveyed businessmen expect the business climate to be the same or better in the third quarter of 2022. In addition, according to the results of the research, 46% of the respondents achieved an increase in turnover in the second compared to the first quarter of the current year.
The demand on the domestic market and the availability of resources remain a key condition for business improvement and greater capacity utilization, bearing in mind that as many as 60% of respondents indicated lower resource costs as a key factor for more efficient operations.
One third of respondents who exported in the second quarter of 2022 recorded an increase in exports compared to the previous quarter, by an average of 50%.
Employment is stable considering that 87% of respondents maintained or increased the number of employees in the second quarter, as well as that 94% of them do not expect a decrease in the number of employees in the next quarter either.
In the second quarter of the current year, the Serbian economy achieved an improvement in business performance, since 46% of the respondents realized an increase in turnover compared to the previous quarter, while 35% of the surveyed turnover remained unchanged.
Businessmen show optimism for the third quarter of 2022 in terms of export trends. Quarter-on-quarter export growth is expected for 32% of surveyed exporters. Of the total number of surveyed companies, 48% of them imported in the second quarter of 2022, and even 82% of the surveyed importers had an increased or the same volume of imports.
The results of the survey show that the majority of respondents expect a continuation of stable performance in the third quarter of 2022.
